A carbon negative / land positive community.
In the heart of Bali, the world’s number-one travel destination lies a secluded paradise. 1,300m – 1,400m above sea level on Sanghyang mountain, one of Bali’s highest mountains, panoramic views sweep over 500,000 SQM of our land, reaching as far as the Bali Sea with the majestic volcanoes of Java on the horizon.
During the exploratory period, we were in awe of the natural landscape, however, our local partners pointed out that extractive farming processes, over the past 20yrs the natural rainforests, flora and fauna have been reduced by over 60%.
We are designing and delivering a sustainable village for residents and tourists, the future green and gold standard worldwide.
By restoring biodiversity with regenerative farming processes, protecting land use, and sharing knowledge, resources and opportunities, we will cultivate and preserve a utopia for future generations.
A Fishing Village Community Development Project
Bali’s tourism is predominantly in the oversaturated south, but we sought adventure off the beaten track and yearned for an authentic Balinese coastal experience. We found just that in the north-western Balinese seaside village & fishing community, Sumberkima and were wholeheartedly welcomed from the moment we arrived.
The shoreline and the Sumberkima Beach Community have been devastated by industrial fishing trawlers and ongoing climate change and face issues arising from a lack of opportunity.
But now, with local families, we have embarked on a village regeneration project, building the infrastructure and demand for ethical and sustainable tourism businesses that provide visitors with a genuine taste of Balinese life whilst simultaneously ensuring a brighter, secure and sustainable future for all.
A sustainable business means hitting the triple-bottom-line. We are committed to sustainable development by positively impacting local and broader communities, carefully managing land use, and improving biodiversity whilst underpinned by healthy economic growth. We set out with these goals and found that our initiatives and organic outcomes align with UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Regenerative Farming
Our regenerative farming initiative, the largest in Bali, will feed our village, be part of a fair trade cooperative and improve the communities nutrition.
Biodiversity
We are increasing the biodiversity across our projects, implementing a charter to protect land use and will monitor and are undertaking a reforestation project.
Sustainable Buildings
Recycle Program
We are establishing a waste management program that reduces waste in landfills, compost all food waste, ban single-use plastic and turn many plastics into new products.
Renewable Energy
We are implementing a self-sufficient energy supply in our secluded mountain village and ensure we build energy-efficient buildings and smart controls on all our projects.
Social Investment
We have committed to reinvesting a portion of profits of property sales and operating profits into environmental and social programs.
Well-being
We share and promote sports facilities and a healthy, active lifestyle and are launching a medical centre for the community.
Sustainable Water
In our mountain village, we are utilising rainwater harvesting initiatives, ponds and natural springs for our water supply.
Education Program
We are working with existing local public schools to co-develop new facilities and resources to benefit young people and aim to launch a forest school.
Fair Pay, Pair Play
We will provide a fair pay program that factors in the cost of living and offers upward mobility opportunities based on merit, experience and commitment.
Code of Ethics
We have developed a code of ethics governing how we make our decisions and behave as an organisation and individuals.
Health & Safety
Our rigorous health, safety, risk management and training programs go further than the current status quo to protect everyone’s wellbeing and interests.
